Adam Zumpa was born on March 31, 1992, in Shellharbour, New South Wales. His upbringing was in New South Wales. He is playing cricket since 2009 in the under-19 team. but his International Cricket Career started in 2016 after his debut in One Day International and T20 International. 

He got his breakthrough in 2016 while playing IPL (Indian Premier League). Zampa took 6 wickets for 19 runs making it the third best bowling in the history of IPL. His stellar performance made his reputation as a top-class spinner which opened the doors of more opportunities.

Career

Zumpa started his cricket in 2009 and played in the under-19 cricket team and showed his performance in the 2010 under-19 World Cup campaign. He earned a rookie contract with the Blues in 2010. He played domestic cricket in New South Wales but didn’t get an opportunity to prove himself.

The peak of his career started in 2016 when he proved himself in the Australian team in their match with New Zealand and also his performance in the IPL turned heads towards him. Over the years he has shown his prowess in spinning. However, his IPL career was shaken when he left the season in 2021 due to the Covid pandemic and in 2022 went unsold. But in 2023 he was signed by Rajasthan Royals.

In the year 2023, his performance was mixed, he made an unwanted record for most runs conceded by a bowler in ODI’s 0/113 which was later broken in the World Cup by Bas de Leede of Netherlands. However, he performed well in the World Cup 2023 and took 4 wickets giving 53 runs helping his team to win against Pakistan. He was part of the winning team of the ICC World Cup 2023.
